Every year around June/July, millions of sardines strand themselves on Indian Ocean beaches, but nobody complains or tries to rescue them. Fish lovers descent on KwaZulu Natal to gorge on the bounty and fill up the fridge until next year. Dolphin, whale and shark all get their fair share.
Unfortunately, up here in Johannesburg, we have to be content with this ...
and watch it on TV.
